History of the Masjied

The Ottery Islamic Society was established during 1992 with the following objectives:

1. To foster and inculcate Islamic values
2. To consolidate and uplift the Muslim society by offering adult and youth programmes/projects/activities in accordance with the Ahle Sunna Wal Jamaa.
3. To facilitate the educational , spiritual and devotional needs of the community
4. To affiliate and co-operate with organisations which will aid the Society in achieving its aims and objectives
5. To raise the necessary funds for various projects, movable and immovable property, which shall be registered in the name of the society

History of Ottery Islamic Society :
The following services/activities is currently available to our community

• Congregational daily prayers
• Religious and educational lectures
• Marriage ceremonies and councelling
• Madrassa classes - daily and Saturday classes
• Youth Development Activities - Scout group, mothers and daughters activities
• Fathers and son's activities
• All programmes in terms of Islamic Calender
• Tutorial classes for Physics and Mathematics
• Archery classes
• Tutorial classes for Physics and Mathematics
• adhoc fleamarket space for local business , arts and crafts Luncheon for the elderly
• Foodfairs
• Pre Wuqoof Ghatam
